The waiting game.

It's now approaching 10:35 p.m. here at WSID and the third and final session of Top Fuel qualifying is still to come. We have had at least one accident on the track, in which I believe no one was hurt, and at least one really nasty oil down. part of the fun of the oil down though was the "burnout pad" that sits just to the right of the race track right in front of the main grandstands. During the downtime, a gentleman, whose name I can't recall, in a small orange car, which I have no idea of make or model, created an absolutely insane amount of smoke as he twisted and turned and looped and twirled on the burnout pad until there was not one reasonable shred of rubber left on the rear tires. And...the crowd went wild!
