The smell of nitro, the smoke of the tires
The violent tire shakes, and then theres the fires
What makes a man want to drive a beast like that
It's not for a trophy, or a pat on the back
It's in ones blood, some might say
They are going to race, you can't stand in their way
I love drag racing, and have loved it for years
Blood , sweat, and throw in some gears
Nerves of steel, courageous and keen
Funny car drivers, are the best that I have seen
Top Fuel is exciting, and Pro Stock is neat
But the floppers are the ones, that get you to your feet
A son of a legend, Scott knew his job well
Driving that monster, a beast from hell
Eight thousand horsepower, he tried to tame
Be quick on the tree, and keep it in your own lane
He could fly planes, just like his dad
The thought of what happened, really makes me sad
To all of his family, God speed you relief
To help ease your sorrow, to help with your grief
